  • Can contactless payment be refused?
  • Yes, if the amount of a unit transaction exceeds €300 (issuer ceiling)
    Yes if the aggregate amount of payments made during the month exceeds the threshold authorised by the card holder's bank
    Yes, in application of the bank's risk management policy (authorisation), based on the card holder's parameters

  • What should I do if contactless payment is refused?
  • Invite your customer to use another means of payment.

  • What should I do if my POS terminal is lost or stolen?
  • Contact the customer service of your bank. Please see the "Your customer services" page for further information.

  • What should I do if my contactless terminal does not work?
  • Contact your after-sales service. Please see the "Your customer services" page for further information..

  • When should I send an itemised statement of customer transactions?
  • Use the procedure you are currently using for your POS terminal.

  • Do contactless payments generate additional costs?
  • No, these payments do not generate additional costs.

  • Does my customer always enter a personal code?
  • The customer does not have to enter a code for payments below €20 (at the customer's discretion). To display payment method demonstrations: click here.

  • My customer has entered 3 wrong personal codes. What should he do?
  • The payment function of your customer's mobile phone is blocked. He needs to contact the service customer of his bank. He needs to use another payment instrument to pay you.

  • What should I check during payment?
  • The customer needs to wait for the light and sound signals of the contactless terminal before withdrawing his mobile phone. If the customer does not wait for the signals, the transaction is cancelled and he needs to repeat the transaction procedure.

  • What is the minimum amount of payment?
  • There is no minimum amount. You can accept any payment from 1 cent.

  • What is the maximum amount of payment?
  • Each customer has his own limit. Payments are in any event capped at €300.

  • Do my mobile phone payments have to be managed separately?
  • Mobile phone payments do not require another management procedure than credit card payments.

  • Can I accept all foreign cards?
  • Yes. All contactless Visa and MasterCard cards are accepted.

  • Can I accept telephone payments or contactless credit card payments from foreign customers?
  • Your POS terminal will tell you whether the transaction can take place. If not, request another means of payment.

  • How can I cancel a transaction?
  • Just follow the usual procedure.
